Our system uses a patented non-toxic, environmentally safe, chemical that rapidly separates oil from sand. The chemical weakens the bond between the oil and the sand and then displaces the oil entirely by attaching itself to the sand. In effect, the oil and the chemical trade places. The oil is free to be collected and the remaining water and chemical is separated from the sand and used again in a continuous loop production process.
The separation system is comprised of a closed loop system that can be scaled to process any amount of oil sand desired. A typical system would handle 320 tons per hour (one open pit hauler load). Our system recovers 200 barrels of oil per load versus 160 barrels per load in currently used process systems. In addition, our recovery process completely removes all oil from the sand. This means that there are no toxic tailings.

Competitor systems have huge disposal problems with the environmentally dangerous tailings and no viable process to resolve the issue. Tailings are being accumulated in holding ponds and the government is taxing the producers for each ton added. The plan is to use the tax reserves to finance the cleanup of the ponds once a solution is found. Our system is the solution for the existing accumulation of tailings and can eliminate future waste disposal problems. We offer an efficient system to produce oil from oil sands with lower costs, reduced emission, no tailings problems and increased production. All of this equals higher profits for the producer.
